Registration link in the description below
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) in Hong Kong was enacted on 29 September 2021, and will be effective in the third quarter of 2022.
CISG provides uniform rules to govern contracts for international sales of goods, with a view to removing legal barriers in, and promoting the development of, international trade. The General Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Justice have joined hands to organise an online seminar, which will be held on 26 January 2022, during which a panel of distinguished speakers will cover the following areas which are important to the business sector:
Overview of the salient features of CISG, as well as its differences from the existing legal regime in Hong Kong - Potential effects of such changes on cross-border trade practices
Practical tips concerning dealings in the international sale of goods under CISG
